This the first ship to carry the name HMS Diamond was a 50-gun ship.

Built at Deptford, launched 15-Mar-1652, 127ft 6in long, 31ft 6in wide and of 547 tons builders measurement.

Captured by the French 20-Sep-1693.

Won the Battle Honours: Armada 1588, Kentish Knock 1652, Portland 1653, Gabbard 1653, Scheveningen 1653, Lowestoft 1665, Four Days Battle 1666, Orfordness 1666, Sole Bay 1672, Schooneveld 1673 and Texel 1673.
