HMS Diamond (1932) DD  (10th)

    
This the tenth ship to carry the name HMS Diamond was a D Class, destroyer.

Built by Vickers Armstrong of Barrow, laid down Sep-1931, launched 08-Apr-1932, and commissioned 02-Nov-1932.

At the start of WW2, Diamond with the other D Class destroyers was on the China Station. They were ordered first to the Mediterranean. Then Diamond was sent to the South Atlantic. In May-1940 it was back to the Mediterranean. On 27-Apr-1940 during the evacuation of Greece, Diamond was bombed and sunk south of Morea.

Won the Battle Honours: Spartivento 1940, Mediterranean 1941, Malta Convoys 1941 and Greece 1941.
