HMS Diamond (1905) CC  (9th)

    
This the ninth ship to carry the name HMS Diamond was a 3rd Class. Protected Cruiser.

Built by Cammell Laird of Birkenhead, laid down 24-Mar-1903, launched 06-Jan-1904, and completed Jan-1905.

On completion went to the America & West Indies Station 1905-07, joined the Atlantic Fleet 1907, then the Channel Battle Squadron 1907-09. Used as the Senior Officers Ship, Destroyer Flotilla at the Nore 1909-13. Served with the 2nd Fleet 1913-15, then the Grand Fleet 1915-18.

To the Mediterranean 1918 and used as a Coastal Motor Boat Carrier with six 40ft coastal motor boats carried in davits.

Returned to the UK and paid off 1919.

Sold 09-May-1921.
