This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Terpsichore was a T
Class, destroyer. Built by Denny, laid down 05-Nov-1941, launched 17-Jun-1943, and commissioned 20-Jan-1944. On completion formed part of the 24th Destroyer Flotilla, and went to the Mediterranean. Took part in the Sicily landings, then on to operations in the Aegean Sea. Assisted in sinking U-407 Sep-1944 To the Pacific with the British Pacific Fleet, and operations against the Japanese until the end of the war. Converted to a Type 16 frigate, Nov-1954. Went into reserve Dec-1957. Arrived at Troon for breaking up 17-May-1966. Won the Battle Honours: Adriatic 1944, South France 1944, Aegean 1944 and Japan 1945.
