Wooden Paddle Frigate 10-gun

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Retribution was a 10-gun, wooden paddle frigate.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 02-Jul-1844, 220ft long, 40ft 6in wide  and of 1,641 tons builders measurement. Armed with 6 x 8in and 4 x 32pdr guns.

Took part in the Royal Fleet Review 1856.

Sold 15-Jul-1864 for breaking up.

Won the Battle Honours: Crimea 1854, Baltic 1855 and China 1860.
