This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Retribution was a
2nd Class Protected Cruiser. Built by palmers of Jarrow, laid down 1890, launched 06-Aug-1891 and completed 1892. On completion went into reserve at Devonport 1892-95. Went to the South America Station as Flagship 1895-98. Returned to the UK at Devonport 1898-1902. To the America & West Indies Station 1902-04. Laid up in the Furth of Forth 1904. Sold 1911.
