HMS Offa (1941) DD  (2nd)

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Offa was an O Class, destroyer.

Built by Fairfield, laid down 01-Jul-1940, launched 31-mar-1941, and commissioned 08-Oct-1941.

Took part in the Lofoten Raid Dec-1941.

Russian convoy escort work took up 1942.

Then 1943 it was to the Atlantic as part of 3rd and 5th Support groups, except for a spell in mid year when she was in the Mediterranean for taking part in the Sicily and Salerno landings.

Continued in service after the war ended.

Put into reserve Feb-1948.

Sold to Pakistan 03-Nov-1949 and renamed Tariq.

Broken up Oct-1959 at Sunderland.

Won the Battle Honours: Norway 1941, Arctic 1941-45, North Africa 1942-43, Sicily 1943, Salerno 1943, Mediterranean 1943, Atlantic 1943, English Channel 1944 and Normandy 1944.
