This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Northumberland was a third rate, 70-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Plymouth Dockyard launched 01-Dec-1750, 160ft long, 45ft wide and of 1,414 tons builders measurement.

Altered to a store ship and renamed HMS Leviathan 13-Sep- 1777.

Foundered 27-Feb-1780  while on passage from Jamaica to Britain.

Won the Battle Honours: Louisburg 1758 and Quebec 1759.
