This the third ship to carry the name HMS Northumberland was a third rate, 70-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 1705, and of 1,300 tons builders measurement.

Captured by the French ship Content, off Ushant, 08-May-1744 and renamed L'Atlas
