HMS Newcastle (1910) CC  (6th)

    
This the sixth HMS Newcastle was a Light Cruiser.

Built by Armstrong of Elswick, laid down 14-Apr-1909, launched 25-Nov-1909, and commissioned Oct-1910.

On completion went to the China Station 1910-14. In 1914 took part in the the bombardment of Yap, before going to Valparaiso to help in the search for the German armed merchant cruiser Prinz Eitel Friedrich. Remained in the Pacific 1915-16.

To the Mediterranean1917 after which she was assigned to the Colombo Patrol in 1917. She moved on to the Adriatic and ended the war in the South Atlantic. Remained there until 1919 when she returned to the UK and went into reserve.

Sold 09-May-1921, and broken up at Lelant 03-May-1923.
