HMS Mars (1794)  (5th)
3rd Rate 74-gun 

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Mars was a  third rate, 74-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built a Deptford Dockyard, launched 25-Oct-1794, 176ft long, 49ft wide, and of 1,842 tons builders measurement.

Fought at the battle of Trafalgar where she was badly damaged with 29 of her crew killed and 69 wounded. (see: Fleets after the Battle).

Broken up Oct-1823.

Won the Battle Honours: Cornwallis' Retreat 1795, 'Hercule' 1798 and Trafalgar 1805.
