This the second ship to carry the name HMS Mars was a third rate,
64-gun, ship-of-the-line. Originally French, captured Oct-1746, by HMS Nottingham off Cape Clear. Armed with 26 x24prd, 28 x 12pdr, and 10 x 6pdr guns. 160ft long, 45ft wide and of 1,347 tons builders measurement. Wrecked near Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jun-1755
