HMS Forte (1895) CC  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Forte was a 2nd Class, Protected Cruiser.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down 21-Sep-1891, launched 09-Dec-1893 and completed 05-Nov-1895.

On completion went to the Mediterranean 1895-98, which included a detachment to the Cape Station 1897. Refitted at Chatham 1898-99, then to the Cape Station 1899-1907. Returned to the UK and went into reserve at Portsmouth 1907-09.

Final active duty was a return to the Cape Station 1909-1913.

Laid up 1913.

Sold 1914 and broken up at Holland.

Won the Battle Honours : Benin 1897 and South Africa 1899-1900.
