This the first ship to carry the name HMS Forte was a fourth rate, ship.

Originally French, captured by HMS Sybille in the Bay of Biscay 28-Feb-1799. 170ft long, 43ft 6in wide and displacing 1,500 tons builders measurement. Armed with 20 x 32pdr, 30 x 24pdr carronades and 2 x 12pdr guns.

Wrecked Jun-1801 of Jeddah.
