Wooden Screw Frigate 26-gun

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Ariadne was a 26-gun, wooden screw frigate.

Built at Deptford Dockyard. launched 04-Jun-1859, 280ft long, 51ft wide and of 3,214 tons builders measurement, displacing 4.583 tons. Armed with 24 x 10in and 2 x 68pdr guns.

Used for harbour service from 1884.

Renamed HMS Actaeon 06-Jun-1905.

Sold 11-Dec-1922.
