This the second ship to carry the name HMS Arethusa was a fifth rate, 38-gun, ship.

Built by Hillhouse of Bristol, launched 10-Apr-1781, 141ft long, 39ft wide and of 948 tons builders measurement.

Broken up at Sheerness May-1814.

Won the Battle Honours: Ushant 1781, St. Lucia 1796 and Curacoa 1807.
