HMS Worcester (1769)  (4th)

This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Worcester was a third rate, 64-gun, ship-of-the-line. The name ship of a class of three.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, laid down 06-May-1766, launched 17-Oct-1769 and completed 26-Nov-1771. 159ft long, 44ft 6in wide and of 1,380 tons builders measurement.

Served as guardship at Portsmouth and various commissions in home waters. To the Mediterranean May-1777 to Mid-1778. Refitted at Portsmouth Jan-1778, then to the East Indies 07-Mar-1779 to 1785 to be paid off.

Hulked at Deptford Jan-1788.

Broken up at Deptford Dec-1816.

Won the Battle Honours: Sadras 1782, Providien 1782, Negapatam 1782 and Trincomalee 1782.
