Wood Screw Frigate

    
This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Shannon  was a wood screw frigate.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, launched 24-Nov-1855, 235ft long, 50ft wide and displacing 2,667 tons. Armed with 30 x 8in, 1 x 68pdr, and 20 x 32pdr guns.

Sold 31-May-1871.

Won the Battle Honour: Lucknow 1858.
