This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Resolution was a third rate, 74-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Deptford Dockyard, launched 12-Apr-1770, 168ft long, 47ft wide, and of 1,612 tons builders measurement.

Was in service at the same time as both the eighth and ninth HMS Resolution.

Broken up at Portsmouth Mar-1813.

Won the Battle Honours: St. Vincent 1780, St. Kitts 1782, The Saints 1782 and Basque Roads 1809.
