This the second ship to carry the name HMS Resolution was a 50-gun ship. Originally HMS Tredagh and renamed Resolution.

Built at Ratcliffe in 1654, of 771 tons builders measurement and renamed in 1660.

Burnt in action against the Dutch 25-Jul-1666.

Won the Battle Honours: Lowestoft 1665 and Orfordness 1666.
