Ship 64-gun 

    
This the first ship to carry the name HMS Resolution was originally HMS Prince Royal which was renamed Resolution 1650.

She was a 64-gun ship, built at Woolwich dockyard, launched 25-Sep-1610, of 890 tons builders measurement (bm). 

As Prince Royal she was rebuilt at Woolwich in 1641 as 1,187 tons bm.

Resolution was renamed back to Prince Royal 1660.

Burned by the Dutch 13-Jun-1666 while aground on the Galloper.

Won the Battle Honours: Kentish Knock 1652, Gabbard 1653 and Scheveningen 1653.
