This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Mohawk was a wooden screw gunvessel.

Built by Young & Magnay of Limehouse, launched 11-Jan-1856, 181ft long, 28ft 6in wide and of 679 tons builders measurement.

Took part in the Royal Fleet Review 1856.

Sold 20-Sep-1862 to the Emperor of China, and renamed Pekin.
