This the ninth ship to carry the name HMS Mohawk was a torpedo
cruiser. Built by Thomson of Clydebank, laid down 02-Mar-1885, launched 06-Feb-1886, and completed Dec-1890. On completion went to the Cape Station 1890-92, then to the North America & West Indies Station 1892-97. Returned to the UK at Chatham 1897. To Australia Station 1897-1901 and back to Chatham 1902. A final operational tour at the Mediterranean followed 1903-04, and back to the UK 1905. Sold 04-Apr-1905.
