This the second ship to carry the name HMS Lookout was an L
Class, destroyer. Built by Scotts, laid down 23-Nov-1938, launched 04-Nov-1940, and commissioned 30-Jan-1942. On commissioning joined the Home fleet and escorted convoy PQ12 to Russia. Then it was to the Mediterranean and the 19th Destroyer flotilla for most of the rest of the war. Saw action at the Salerno and Anzio landings. Apr-May-1942 was in the Indian Ocean after which she returned to the Mediterranean. Took part in operations for landings in the South of France 1944. Broken up shortly after war ended. Won the Battle Honours: Diego Suarez 1942, Malta Convoys 1942, Arctic 1942, North Africa 1942-43, Sicily 1943, Salerno 1943, Mediterranean 1943-45 and South France 1944.
