HMS Imperieuse (1886) CC  (5th)

    
This the fifth HMS Imperieuse was the name ship of a Class of two cruisers.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, laid down 10-Aug-1881, launched 18-Dec-1883 and completed Sep-1886. 

On completion she spent her time mainly in Reserve from 1886-88, when she went out to the China station as Flagship 1889-94. Returned in 1894 to go back into Reserve, and a refit. Then back to the Pacific as Flagship from 1896-99. Returned to Chatham for refit 1899-1905.

Used as a depot ship for torpedo boat destroyers at Portland and renamed Sapphire II from Feb-1905.

Sold 24-Sep-1913.
