Wooden Screw Frigate

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Imperieuse was a wooden screw frigate.

Built at Deptford Dockyard, launched 15-Sep-1852, 148ft 6in long, 39ft 6in wide and of 2,358 tons builders measurement. Armed with 10 x 8in , 1 x 68pdr and 40 x 32pdr guns.

Took part in the Royal Fleet Review 1853 and the Royal Fleet Review 1856.

Sold Mar-1867.

Won the Battle Honours: Baltic 1854-55 and China 1860.
