HMS Hasty (1936) DD  (6th)

    
This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Hasty was an H Class, destroyer.

Built by Denny, laid down 15-Apr-1935, launched 05-May-1936, and commissioned 11-Nov-1936.

Commissioned into the 2nd Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean, and was there at the start of WW2.

Sent initially to the South Atlantic, then to home waters early 1940.

Was in refit at the time of the Norwegian campaign. May 1940 it was back to the Mediterranean.

Took part in Operation Vigorous, Jun-1942.

Hit by torpedo 14-Jun-1942 from German S Boote, S55, and wrecked. Sunk 15-Jun-1942 by Hotspur.

Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1939, Norway 1940, Calabria 1940, Spada 1940, Mediterranean 1940-41, Matapan 1941, Greece 1941, Crete 1941, Libya 1941-42, Malta Convoys 1941-42 and Sirte 1942.
