HMS Forester (1934) DD  (10th)

    
This the tenth ship to carry the name HMS Forester was an F Class, destroyer.

Built by White, laid down, 15-May-1933, launched 28-Jun-1934, and commissioned 29-Mar-1935.

Took part in the King George V Silver Jubilee Fleet Review 16-Jul-1935.

On completion formed the 6th Destroyer Flotilla with the Home Fleet, renumbered the 8th Flotilla, May-1939.

Took part in the Norwegian Campaign, including the 2nd Battle of Narvik.

Then from Mid-1940 it was to force H based at Gibraltar.

23-Jul-1941 had to torpedo and sink her crippled sister ship HMS Fearless, north of Bone.

Back to the Home Fleet early 1942 and Arctic Convoy Duty., followed by time spent on Atlantic Convoy Escort.

Served at the Normandy landings 1944.

Sold Jan-1946.

Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1939-44, Narvik 1940, Norway 1940, Spartivento 1940, Malta Convoys 1941, Arctic 1942-43, Normandy 1944 and English Channel 1944.
