This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Forester was an Albacore class, 4 gun, wooden screw gunboat.

Built by Green of Blackwall, laid down 26-Aug-1855, launched 22-Jan-1856 and completed 24-Mar-1856.

Took part in the Royal Fleet Review 1856.

Renamed YC 7 at Hong Kong in 1868.

Lost 02-Sep-1871 in a Typhoon at Hong Kong.

Won the Battle Honour: China 1856-60.
