HMS Fearless (1934) DD  (6th)

    
This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Fearless was an F Class, destroyer.

Built by Cammell Laird, laid down 17-mar-1933, launched 12-May-1934, and commissioned 22-Dec-1934.

On completion formed the 6th Destroyer Flotilla with the other F Class, destroyers, attached to the Home Fleet. The Flotilla was renumbered 8th Flotilla May-1939.

Took part in the King George V Silver Jubilee Fleet Review 16-Jul-1935.

Early 1940 took part in the Norwegian Campaign and North Sea offensive patrols against German shipping off the Norwegian coast.

Jun-1940 it was to Gibraltar with Force H.

1941 assisted in capturing a French convoy.

On 23-Jul-1941 while screening HMS Ark Royal, was torpedoed by attacking Italian aircraft and crippled. Had to be torpedoed and sunk by HMS Forester, north of Bone.

Won the Battle Honours: Norway 1940, Atlantic 1941, Mediterranean 1941 and Malta Convoys 1941.
