This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Crescent was a
sixth rate, 28-gun, ship. Built by Hillhouse of Bristol, launched Mar-1779, 121ft long, 34ft wide and of 611 tons builders measurement. Captured 19-Jun-1781 by the French, off Cadiz.
