Wooden Paddle Sloop 6-gun

    
This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Cormorant was a 6-gun, wooden paddle sloop.

Built at Sheerness Dockyard, laid down 17-May-1841, launched 29-Mar-1842 and completed 28-Jun-1843, 170ft long, 36ft wide and of 1,056 tons builders measurement, displacing 1,590 tons. Armed with 2 x 10in, 2 x 68pdr and 2 x 42pdr guns.

Broken up Aug-1853.
