HMS Cormorant (1776)  (2nd)
Sloop 14-gun

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Cormorant was a 14-gun, sloop.

Built by Barnard of Ipswich, laid down Nov-1775 and launched 21-May-1776, 97ft long, 27ft wide and of 304 tons builders measurement.

Served in the East Indies Nov-1776 to Mar-1779. The in the English Channel and East Atlantic until 1780 when she went to North America.

Captured by the French 24-Aug-1781 off Charlestown.
