This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Charybdis was one of
the third batch of Type 12M Leander Class frigates. Built by Harland & Wolff, launched 28-Feb-1968. Armed originally with 2 x 4.5in guns Seacat missiles and helicopter. (Later changed to Exocet and Seawolf missiles. Appeared at the Silver Jubilee Review 1977. Expended as a target 12-Jun-1993.
