This the third ship to carry the name HMS Carysfort was a
14-gun, steel screw corvette, later re-rated as a third class cruiser. Built by Elder of Govan, laid down26-Sep-1878, launched 26-Sep-1878 and completed 15-Sep-1880. Sold 15-Dec-1899.
