This the ninth ship to carry the name HMS Avenger was a Type 21, Amazon Class, guided missile frigate.

Built by Yarrow, launched 20-Nov-1975, commissioned 15-Apr-1978.

Sold to the Pakistan Navy 23-Sep-1994 as PNS Tippu Sultan.

Won the Battle Honour: Falkland Islands 1982.
