This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Avenger  was a Tank Landing Ship, originally LST 3011 and renamed 1947.

Built by Harland & Wolff and launched 12-Feb-1945.

Renamed HMS Avenger 1947.

Transferred to the Indian Navy 01-Mar-1949 and renamed Magar 1951.
