This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Aurora was a 2nd
Class Armoured
Cruiser. Built ay Pembroke Dock, laid down 01-Feb-1886, launched 28-Oct-1887, and completed Sep-1889. Served at Devonport 1889-90, then moved to the Channel Squadron 1890-92. Back to Devonport 1892-93. Served with the Coast Guard at Bantry 1893-95. Then it was back to Devonport 1895-99, out to the China Station 1899-1902. Where she won the Battle Honour 'China 1900'. Returned to the UK for refit at Clydebank 1902-03. After refit went to Devonport 1904 and finally laid up at Holy Loch 1905. Sold 02-Oct-1907. Won the Battle Honour: China 1900.
