This the second ship to carry the name HMS Aurora  was a fifth rate, 32-gun, ship.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 13-Jan-1766, 125ft long, 35ft wide and of 679 tons builders measurement.

Burned out during passage from the Cape to East Indies, 1770.
