This the second ship to carry the name HMS Adventure was a
32-gun, ship. Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 1646, 116ft long, 28ft wide and of 438 tons builders measurement. Rebuilt at Chatham 1691 as a fourth rate, 44-gun, 117ft long, 29ft wide. Captured by the French 01-Mar-1709 off Martinique. Won the Battle Honours: Dover 1652, Portland 1653, Gabbard 1653, Scheveningen 1653, Lowestoft 1665, Orfordness 1666, Sole Bay 1672, 'Golden Horse' 1681, 'Two Lions' 1681 and Barfleur 1692.
