This the ninth ship to carry the name HMS Tartar was a Type 81 Tribal Class frigate.

Built at Devonport Dockyard, launched 19-Sep-1960.

Appeared at the Silver Jubilee Review 1977.

Sold to the Indonesian Navy 1984 and renamed Hasanuddin. Paid off 2000.
