HMS Severn (1695) (1st)

This the first ship to carry the name HMS Severn was a 4th
rate 48-gun, ship. Built by Johnson of Blackwall, launched 1695, 131ft long, 34ft 6in wide and of 683 tons builders measurement (bm). Rebuilt at Plymouth 1739 as 853 tons bm. Captured by the French ship Terrible, 19-Oct-1746. Recaptured 14-Oct-1747 and broken up.
