Wooden Screw Corvette 14-gun

     
This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Sapphire was a 14-gun, wooden screw corvette.

Built at Devonport Dockyard, launched 24-Sep-1874, 220ft long, 37ft wide, of 1,405 tons builders measurement, and displacing 1,970 tons. Armed with 14 x 6 pdr guns.

Sold 24-Sep-1892.
