This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Pelican was a 10-gun, schooner.

Originally a French privateer, captured 1775, 70ft long, 21ft 6in wide and of 150 tons builders measurement.

Used for harbour service from 1775. Renamed Earl of Denbigh 1777.

Foundered 02-Jun-1787.
