HMS New Zealand (1905) BB  (1st)

    
This the first HMS New Zealand was one of eight King Edward VII  Class battleships.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, laid down Feb-1903, launched 04-Feb-1904 and completed  Jun-1905. 

(She was renamed HMS Zealandia in 01-Nov-1911 when the Indefatigable Class (1911) battlecruisers were under construction, and the name New Zealand allocated to the second of those ships).

From 1905-13 served with the Atlantic, Channel and Home Fleets. Joined the 3rd Battle Squadron 1914. Joined the Dardanelles force in late 1915 and remained in the Mediterranean for the rest of WW1.

Refitted 1918, and then used as a depot ship until sold 08-Nov-1921.  Broken up in Germany.
