This the second ship to carry the name HMS Nairana was an
escort aircraft carrier. Built by John Brown shipyard on the Clyde, bought on the stocks and converted. 498ft long, 68ft wide and displacing 14,050 tons. Armed with 2 x 4in and 20 x 20mm guns. Carried 15 aircraft. Loaned to the Royal Dutch Navy Mar-1946 to 1948 and renamed the Karel Doorman. Sold 1948 as the Port Victor. Broken up at Faslane 1971. Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1944, Arctic 1944-45 and Norway 1945.
