HMS Mermaid (1651) (2nd)

This the second ship to carry the name HMS Mermaid was a
24-gun ship. Built by Graves of Limehouse, launched 1651, 105ft long, 26ft wide and of 309 tons builders measurement (bm). Rebuilt at Woolwich 1689 as 5th rate, 32-gun ship of 343 tons bm. Rebuilt at Chatham 1707 as 421 tons bm. Broken up Jun-1734. Won the Battle Honours: Dover 1652, Gabbard 1653, Scheveningen 1653, Porto Farina 1655 and Lowestoft 1665.
