HMS Australia (1888) CC  (2nd)

     
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Australia was a 2nd Class Armoured Cruiser.

Built by Fairfield of Govan, laid down 21-Apr-1885, launched 25-11-1886 and completed Oct-1888.

On completion served at Chatham 1888-89, then moved to the Mediterranean 1889-93.

Used as coast guard ship at Southampton Water 1893-1903.

Finally served at Chatham 1904.

Sold 1906.
