This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Argus was a coastguard vessel.

Originally HMS Imogene, built by White of Cowes, launched 1864, 139ft long, 21ft wide and of 300 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Argus 22-Jan-1884.

Sold 1903.
