This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Argus was a coastguard vessel.

Built by Green of Blackwall, launched 1851, 136ft long, 22ft wide, of 318 tons builders measurement, and displacing 357 tons.

Renamed HMS Amelia 16-Apr-1872.

Renamed HMS Fanny Apr-1889.

Hulked 1899.

Sold for breaking up 1907.
